Isham
Latimer has explored different martial arts, including Saneuces Ryu
Ju-Jitsu and Modern Arnis, and distinguished himself in their studies and
applications. However, his foremost passion is Isshin-Ryu.
He travels frequently, holding seminars and workshops on Isshin-Ryu
principles and applications throughout the Mid-Atlantic area. As a senior black belt and current president of his Isshin-Ryu organization, Sensei Latimer consistently demonstrates his loyalty to his friends and colleagues, yet also serves as a mediating influence when conflicts arise. I have never heard Sensei Latimer speak disparagingly of another martial arts student, but have heard him endeavor many times to seek the strengths in others and be a source of encouragement to them. |
Sensei Latimer contributions have been recognized by the Isshin Ryu Hall of Fame, which awarded him the Spirit of Isshin Ryu award in 1996 and the Sensei of Sensei award in 2000. He continues to represent his art to the world while maintaining high personal standards.
