Albert
Mady was born on September 1, 1958 in Windsor,
Ontario, Canada. He began his training at the Okinawan Karate School
of Windsor under Sensei Robert Markovich at the age of 12. He quickly
became one of the leading students at his club, and due to his strength and
aggressiveness was transferred to the adult group where he successfully
completed against other members who were twice his size. In addition,
Mr. Mady trained with Sensei Lloyd Russette and Sensei Harry Acklin. In 1981 Mr. Mady opened his first school which is still in existence today. He currently has 18 affiliate schools operating throughout Canada. |
Mr. Mady has
been honored throughout the years for his multiple talents and achievements.

1993 Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame Dojo of the Year
North American Karate Championships Breaking Champion (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993 &

2000 Master Don Nagle Memorial Master Instructor of the Year
2001 AOKA Spirit of Isshin-Ryu Award
2002 American Intern Light-Heavyweight Knock Down Champion
2003 AOKA Dojo of the year
2006 Inducted into the International Martial Arts and Kickboxing Hall of Fame
Mr.
Mady has gone on to expand his knowledge in other disciplines of the Martial
Arts. He had studied with many notable instructors in Judo, Jiujitsu, Arnis,
Ruku Kempo, Kyokushin Kai, Toyama-Ryu Iaido, along with his own background in
competitive wrestling.
He is known world-wide for his abilities in "breaking" thus promoting Isshin-Ryu on the world stage. He has also become well known as a full-contact fighter and the trainers of world class full contact fighters. In addition to all of the competitions he has won over his years, Mr. Mady still made it a priority to be involved in the American Okinawan Karate Association. He has served several years on the different boards within the AOKA including the Board of Directors.
It is noteworthy that Shihan
Mady has attracted students from all walks of life; school children, university
students, accountants, lawyers, doctors, laborers, skilled trades workers, the
unemployed etc. He treats everyone equally regardless of their personal
circumstances and insists that his students respect him as well as each other.
