Information
SCHOLARSHIPS!
The Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame will award
over $500 in scholarships this year!
The Male and Female Grand Champions in Kata and Kumite will each receive their
entry fee paid for the 2008 Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame tournament.
In addition, each
1st place winner will have
their name placed in a bowl. Before the Grand Championships begin, 5 names
will be drawn from the bowl. Each of the lucky names drawn will receive a
$100 cash scholarship.
IMPORTANT!
The Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame Tournament will
be a PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY
tournament. NO entries will be
accepted after July 18. This
means there will be no registrations taken the day before or the day of the
tournament. Competitor registrations must be RECEIVED
ON-LINE or by Postal Mail by the final registration date of July 18.
Registrations received after this date will be returned.
We encourage you to use
the ON-LINE registration program outlined below. This simplifies
registration and inputs your registration directly into our database for
processing.
The purpose of this new
policy is to help better organize the flow of the tournament, and ensure we have
adequate rings, officials, and awards, as well as giving each competitor his/her
event times and ring assignments in advance of the tournament.
Our new software program
will produce a competitor report showing ring assignments and times for each
event. This will also allow us the ability to "split", change, eliminate
or add divisions based on the number of entries.
ON-LINE
REGISTRATION!
Our
ON-LINE REGISTRATION takes the "guess work" out of which EVENTS you may enter. Submit your
registration online and pay your fee with check or credit card. You may
also register for the Friday afternoon seminar, and reserve Banquet and
Spectator Tickets. The 2008 Isshin-Ryu Hall
of Fame Banquet and Saturday night party will be held at the Park Vista Resort Hotel in the Tennessee
Ballroom. The tournament will be held in the Gatlinburg Convention Center.
Registration
Packets!
Registration Packets may be
picked-up on Friday afternoon in the Ballroom level lobby between 12 pm and 4 pm, or on Saturday
morning beginning at 8 am. Packets will
contain Tournament Registration Materials, Banquet Tickets, and Spectator Wrist
Bands, Ring Assignments and Event starting times.
Trophies & Awards!
1st,
2nd, 3rd & 4th place Awards in all divisions. All Mighty Mites
through Juniors will receive a medal.
Competitor Cards!
Each competitor will be issued a
"Competitor Card",
and must present this card to the Referee before the start of each division in
order to compete.
Men & Ladies Kata Grand Championship!
Winners in Ladies,
Men's,
Executive, and
Seniors Black Belt empty hand and weapons Kata divisions will compete for this title.
Each competitor will be required to perform the winning Kata of their division plus
perform a second Kata of their choice. The winner will be determined by the total
score of both Katas. (Chief Instructors are
not eligible!)
Men & Ladies Kumite Grand Championship!
Winners in Ladies,
Men's,
and Executive Black Belt Kumite divisions may compete for this title.
The Grand Championship matches shall be 3 minute or 5 points.
The Board expresses its deepest appreciation to each of
you and looks forward to seeing you at the tournament and banquet in August. Rooms at the
Park Vista are limited, so be sure to make your reservations early!
